Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that the players feel happier this season under the tutelage of coach Jose Mourinho, calling the Portuguese “fantastic”.
The former Chelsea and Inter boss remains unbeaten in charge of los Blancos so far this season, collecting a perfect Champions League record and also edging to the summit of La Liga.
Speaking in an interview with AS, CR7 maintained that he could not be happier with the current situation at the Santiago Bernabeu, and told of his satisfaction at working with Mourinho on a daily basis.
He stated: “With Mourinho, everyone is happier. When things do not run well it is normal for people to feel sad, but this season things are going great. I thank God that everything is going well.
“Mourinho is fantastic. I am thankful that he came here because with his experience and with all the titles he has won, it is good to work with him. I always said I wanted him to train me, and my colleagues are also delighted to work with him. I hope we win the Champions League.”
Ronaldo added however that the key is to continue their current vein of form, and stay focused on winning matches, adding: “The most important thing is to win. The match against Milan [in the Champions League] was a difficult test, and we have shown that we are moving in the right direction. Both the coach and I are very happy.”
