5-Row QWERTY Keyboard For iPhone

Do you find troublesome to switch to numeric keyboard using the “123″ key? KennyTM, the developer of hClipboard, has developed a 5-Row QWERTY keyboard for iPhone. This tweak adds an additional row of numbers over the existing keyboard, so that you can type number directly, which is quite similar to a standard QWERTY keyboard.

Install 5-Row Keyboard Via Cydia

Launch Cydia > Select “Sections” at haptic menu > Select “Keyboards” category > and select “5-Row QWERTY Keyboard” or you can tap “Search” in Cydia and type “5-Row QWERTY Keyboard" > Select “install” button at the right top and confirm it to install.

How To Use 5-Row QWERTY Keyboard

To install and use this stuff, you should have a jailbroken iPhone. Once you have installed, you should be able to use the 5-Row keyboard. But if you find that it didn’t work, you can go to Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> International Keyboards and enable “5 Row QWERTY keyboard” manually.

On the top that, by hitting SHIFT key, the number row will change to the equivalent symbol that you can type exclamation mark, dollar sign, blanket symbols directly.

For now, when you tap “123″ keyboard and switch to the numeric keyboard, all the keys are re-organized and gives you a numeric keypad. Try hitting the SHIFT key, it’ll give you keys such as directional keys and tab character.

The keyboard tweak is really great and minimizes my time to switch between numeric and alphabetical keyboards. Probably Apple should consider to revamp its default keyboard in the next version of firmware update.
